As we all know this Saturday the Leadership Teams from all the English speaking BNI Chapters in Bangkok got together at the wonderful Rajapruek Golf club in order to discuss Goal Planning for the chapters.

BNI members getting educated
Thanks in no small part to the efforts of BNI United member K. Surachwadee Rungcharoenpisa and our ever resourceful Director Mrs. Judith Coulson the event was a huge success.
Our agenda was as follows:

BNI LT outing agenda
The presentations given by BJ, Peter and Shalini were particularly interesting and I strongly suggest you follow up with them in order to get their slides. My own presentation is available for viewing and download here:
Team United goal setting summary
Team United worked very well together and came up with following points:
- At the very high level our chapter must define it’s “spirit” – We need to define:
- What is BNI United
- Why would a visitor want to join US?
- How are we better than other chapters?
- Note: We aim to have this process yield results by the end of May so you are all encouraged to jot down your thoughts on the above before we meet again on the 12th of May.
- We need to develop an understanding for what benefits every individual member is seeking to get out of their membership.
- These initial queries would serve as the base for planning how to start resolving the following questions the chapter is facing:
- How can we increase member engagement?
- How can we ensure the chapter meets the expectations members have from their participation.
- Insofar as chapter goals are concerned the forum came up with the following proposals
- Grow to 30 members by the end of September 2011.
- Reach 2,000,000THB in referrals per month by the year’s end.
- Ideas for strategies we thought we can implement to achieve our goals:
- Implement a “Buddy System” in our chapter. Chapter members will be paired as “Buddies” and will work to get an intimate understanding of each other’s business goals. They will work first and foremost to promote the interests of their buddy: help with referrals, substitutions if necessary and general feedback and support. The idea is to rotate the buddy pairs regularly. This effort will be led by Jacob Bojsen.
- Work to establish incentivization for members who provide value to others regularly.
- Establish a custom of having a monthly social. This was envisioned as an evening outing dedicated to simply getting to better know each other personally.
- Responsibility for data entry will be delegated to staff at Peter’s over at T&B Solutions (thanks Peter!).
- The chapter requires a Communications Director.
You’re all encouraged to review the above points, make you own suggestions, and add your feedback. Use the comments below to ensure everyone has access to the debate.
Closed chapter meeting in June
Our first meeting in June (2nd of the month) will be a closed chapter meeting during which we will review all the comments and suggestions people have in regards to the points made above and in particular to those that relate to the definition of our chapter.
